Bess
Back to Adoptables
Bess is a 6 to 7 year old spayed female Border Collie mix, possibly mixed with Australian Cattle Dog. Bess has tested heartworm negative and is on preventive, is up to date with all her vaccinations, has been microchipped, and she has been treated with Frontline. She weighs 32 lbs.
This petite and peppy girl is a great companion who just wants to hang out with her people. Bess walks well on leash and is crate trained and housetrained. She rides beautifully in the car (matter of fact, she loves to go for car rides) and she likes nothing better than to sleep in bed with you! (Though she will settle well on a couch, a dog bed, or in a crate if you are not inclined to share your sleeping quarters with a Border Collie!) Often Bess thinks she's a lap dog and she adores getting petted, having her belly rubbed, and receiving attention.
Bess prefers to be either an "only dog" or in a household with another male dog. She will thrive with a family where she can get plenty of attention and affection and participate in lots of activities. She is great with kids, is very smart, playful and silly, and she learns quickly. Bess is very adaptable and is a happy-go-lucky, grinning, wagging dog who puts a smile on the face of everyone who meets her.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
